February 14, 2011Well, it’s 2011 and my latest greatest work of art is a collaboration with my lovely partner, Melanie.
JoJo Pond is the name of our newly born son. He came to us on Dec. 26th, 3 hours after Xmas ended…. At home, in the middle of a fantastic blizzard!
I am amazed by the process of childbirth, and how common it is. One amazing aspect of this miracle is that people have siblings! …Incredible to imagine that some folks just jump back into it, and have more children!
All of my love goes out to the Mothers of the human race.
Creative Goddesses, thank you for the love.
Thank you for sacrificing your independence,
your hobbies, careers, and most everything else that
used to be important to you. I love you.
My lessons of Fatherhood loom in front of me now,

“Good things come to those who wait. The boys felt bad for having to cancel the shows last year and made up for it….BIG TIME.
The first night was good, the second night was freakin sick. …
With snow falling the boys had fun with it playing “Snow on the Pines,” and toying lyrics to “Cold Rain and Snow” and “Jingle Bells. …
The Pond Bros. came out again and brought out their drummer who basically had a snare drum and a “GO” box that was like a piece of wood with a half soup can lid, a fork, and other wierd things that he beat the hell out of with what looked to be chopsticks…..and freakin’ killed it during “Kentucky Mandolin” … Only in Asheville. … And we left the Orange Peel walking out in the cold rain and snow.”

“The cold rain and snow didn’t keep a sold-out crowd from coming out to the Orange Peel to see Colorado’s Yonder Mountain String Band close out their two-night run. The night was highlighted by several John Hartford covers and guest appearances from Snake Oil Medicine Show members George Pond, Andy Pond and Billy Seawell.”
